The Julia Greeley Home was founded in 2013 by Father Regis Scanlon, OFM Cap, to provide a program and place of dignity for women who are alone and homeless, where they have the time and resources to rebuild their lives. Father Regis was ordained a priest on August 26,1972 and served as a spiritual director for St. Teresa of Calcutta’s Missionaries of Charity both internationally and in Denver. He also served the Missionaries of Charity locally in Denver. He was director of the Catholic Prison Ministry for the Archdiocese of Denver from 1999 to 2010. Father Scanlon published numerous articles on issues facing Christianity in the 21st century. His articles have appeared in Homiletic & Pastoral Review, Crisis magazine, New Oxford Review and other publications. Father Regis also wrote a blog on frregisscanlon.com called “Commentary on Catholic Issues.”
Father Regis entered eternal life on November 6, 2021. He worked tirelessly to help women in need at the Julia Greeley Home. Now, may he rest in everlasting peace.
