The Julia Greeley Home is honored to partner with the Ward Family Foundation of Alexandria, Virginia as part of its education scholarship program. Through this partnership, a qualified resident of the Julia Greeley Home may receive a one-year scholarship to begin or continue her education at a college or university in Colorado. Scholarships may be renewed for an additional year at the discretion of the Foundation, based on academic performance and progress.
This generous scholarship program aligns closely with Julia’s mission to help motivated women overcome homelessness and build new lives of purpose, stability, and self-sufficiency. The scholarships are designed to support recipients as they pursue practical degree paths that lead to meaningful employment and long-term career opportunities.
Several Julia Greeley Home residents have been awarded scholarships through the Ward Family Foundation. Each recipient has gone on to make the most of this educational opportunity, successfully transitioning from our program and continuing her journey toward independence. Their academic achievements and commitment to excellence reflect both their determination and the life-changing impact of access to education.
Additional residents may apply for consideration as they meet eligibility criteria, with all scholarship awards made solely at the discretion of the Ward Family Foundation.
The mission of the Ward Family Foundation is both innovative and results-driven. Founded by businessman John L. Ward, the Foundation was established to help charitable organizations operate using “best practices,” emphasizing measurable outcomes, accountability, and proven methods that demonstrate real impact. By extending sound business principles to nonprofit work, the Foundation seeks to help organizations reach their highest level of effectiveness.
The high standards upheld by the Ward Family Foundation make the Julia Greeley Home especially proud to be included in this scholarship program. We share the belief that few investments are as powerful as education—and that earning a degree is one of the strongest predictors of long-term success and a life of self-sufficiency.
