The Julia Greeley Home feels a natural affinity with Step Denver. Both our organizations believe that, in most cases, the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness resides in the commitment of each individual to take personal responsibility for their lives.
The first and most notable difference is that Step Denver’s mission serves men who have become homeless because of addiction. The mission of the Julia Greeley Home serves women who have become homeless due to traumatic events such as domestic abuse, family estrangement, and financial collapse.
Two decades before Julia’s was founded, Step Denver achieved national recognition through its founder, Bob Coté, under its original name, Step 13. Since then the organization hasn’t wavered from its philosophy that welfare-based programs “dehumanize the homeless.” Likewise, the Julia Greeley Home believes that chronic homelessness threatens the God-given dignity of each woman.
When you support Step Denver’s Driven to Donate, you strengthen yet another tie between our organizations, because the proceeds of each donated vehicle are shared equally between us.
