We caught up with Sheree as she was running through Home Depot looking for flowers and tomato plants.
“I love doing what I can to make a happy, cheerful place,” she explains, laughing. Today, that place is a farm in North Carolina, where Sheree moved several years ago with her husband, kids and grandkids. The family lives 20 minutes from the next big city, and that’s fine with Sheree — she loves the peace and calmer pace that Denver seems to have lost.
In the near future, she plans on filling up the farm with lambs, geese and ducks — “We’re having a lot of fun with that” — and chickens are already in residence and supplying breakfast eggs every morning.
During the short-lived crisis that brought Sheree to us five years ago, you made it possible for her to earn her certified nursing assistant degree through our partnership with the Ward Family Foundation. And who knows? Sheree says there’s a community college nearby and she just might keep continuing her education.
Thank you, donors, for forging the path to Sheree’s success. She did the rest.
Way to go, Sheree!
