Colorado Nature Babes: Chasing Adventure and Purpose
We are thrilled that Colorado Nature Babes has chosen to support the Julia Greeley Home through its donation program, which comes with a message we all share — “Women supporting women.”
Colorado Nature Babes was launched in 2017 as a Facebook group for women who love the great outdoors and every activity that goes with it, from hiking and climbing, to trailblazing and hitting the slopes — any pursuit that falls in the category of “chasing adventure.”
The group grew quickly from about 10 core members to 1,500 women who share their adventures with eachother at Facebook/ColoradoNature Babes. One post explains their passion: “Step out of your comfort zone, chase adventure, chase purpose …” she writes.
So how do you “chase purpose”? Colorado Nature Babes does it by helping women who are homeless, less fortunate, and in great need.
They teamed up with HomeAid Colorado to assemble Care Kits to distribute to nonprofits that serve women who have lost everything because of traumatic events such as domestic violence, death of a breadwinner, or financial collapse.
Their mission brought them to the Julia Greeley Home in mid December when a founding member, Jessica Yadon, rolled in with a treasure load of gifts designed just for women — health, hygiene and personal care products that are always in short supply in home that serve women.
Today, the Nature Babes has expanded beyond Colorado to Florida and continues to grow and to inspire: “Everything you need, your courage, strength, compassion & love; everything you need is already within you,” posted one member.
And (as she might have added), what is within you, is now available to give to others.
Thank you, Colorado Nature Babes, for giving so much to us!
