Our New Julia Greeley Home Website
Welcome to the new website of the Julia Greeley Home. If you haven’t checked us out for a while, I hope you’ll explore what we’ve been up to this year, and how we are helping more and more women escape homelessness and begin productive new lives.
The women you’ll read about here are courageous. Each of them faced homelessness, but they wanted more for their lives. They participated in the Julia Greeley program and found their own path to independence and self sufficiency. These women gave us permission to tell their stories, and there are many more who have also done well and found success. The key is that the Julia Greeley program gives each woman the sufficient time, plus the spiritual support and confidence, to know she has the God-given dignity to restore her own life.
As you’ll read here, we can’t do this without our community partners. They supply the expertise that our residents need. Some provide job training, others spiritual encouragement, and still others professional help with counseling services and scholarship opportunities. We believe strongly that adult education can be the spark that ignites a return to an independent life. Because of that we are grateful to the Denver-area colleges and learning programs that have helped Julia Greeley residents, and value our partnership with the scholarship program of the Ward Family Foundation, Alexandria, VA.
As you explore our website more, you’ll also meet the people who guide the Julia Greeley program and you’ll see how to get in touch with us, and how to support us. We can’t do any of this without you! And because of you, many women are living happy, independent lives who might otherwise still be lost in the homeless cycle, without jobs, homes or an education.
Sincerely,
Father Regis Scanlon, OFM Cap, President, Julia Greeley Home Inc.
