The help and expertise of our community partners are the pillars that help us sustain our mission. They provide opportunities for Julia’s residents to take the next step to independence.
We are especially proud to be able to offer scholarship opportunities with the Ward Family Foundation of Alexandria, VA., which has already helped one former resident obtain her health care certificate and opportunities to further her education in nursing. Another resident is attending college this fall to pursue her degree in social work. Future scholarship candidates are in the works!
In the Denver metro area, rich educational resources are being offered by institutions that include Emily Griffith Technical College, Red Rocks Community College and 2Succeed.
In jobs training, our residents have reached out for help to that includes Bayaud Enterprises, Mia Casa Resource Center, Jobs For Life, and TPM Staffing Services.
As important as the support we can offer our residents, are the opportunities we can offer our generous donors. Through our partnership with Step Denver, the residential recovery organization for men, Julia Greeley donors can donate their old vehicles, receive a charitable tax deduction, and know that the proceeds will be used equally for support of Julia’s and Step Denver.
Of course, at the foundation of every source of help is spiritual support. We are grateful for the contributions of the Christ-centered organizations that have offered their time, prayers and encouragement to our women, including Christ in the City, Endow, and the Denver-based St. Elizabeth’s Fraternity, the organization of secular Franciscans that was founded more than a century ago — and which Julia Greeley herself joined as a member in 1901.
