The Lessons of COVID-19
I’m writing to let you know I’m praying for all the women at the Julia Greeley Home and all of Julia’s friends and donors during this trial of the Coronavirus.
I know these are trying times which test the patience of everyone. When we experience any kind of suffering, it helps us discover what is really valuable in our lives. Small things which used to seem important, like buying certain clothes or viewing the latest movies, no longer seem important compared to things like freedom to walk around and gather with our friends and have a meal at our favorite restaurant.
Hopefully, the unfortunate closing of Churches throughout the world due to the Coronavirus will help each and every one of us to discover– or rediscover — the unsurpassable value and blessing of freedom to worship and gather at our particular Church. Why did God permit this virus to afflict us? Maybe because He wanted us to discover—or rediscover– this very thing. He wanted each of us to discover what a gift we have in being free to worship God as we believe. May our good Lord help us through the scourge of this virus and, more importantly, help us always to show our thanks to God for the gift of being free to worship Him as each of us believes by exercising our right to worship God by gathering at our Churches or Synagogues while we have the freedom to do so.
May God bless you all.
